HomeState will introduce a limited-time menu collaboration with comedian Atsuko Okatsuka beginning May 6 as part of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
The menu item, called “The Atsuko Bowl,” marks the first rice bowl offered by the Texas-style taco chain. The dish combines ingredients associated with Tex-Mex and Japanese cuisine, including Calrose rice, achiote-marinated chicken, black beans, roasted mushrooms and a miso-chipotle sauce.

The collaboration is part of HomeState’s ongoing “Band Taco” series, which has previously featured partnerships with musicians and entertainers including Phoebe Bridgers, Leon Bridges and Fred Armisen.
Okatsuka recently released her second stand-up special, FATHER, on Hulu and Disney+, and is currently touring nationally with her “Big Bowl Tour.”
HomeState, founded in 2013 by Texas native Briana Valdez, operates multiple locations across Southern California, including a recently opened Santa Monica location.
