The four-course “An Evening in Jalisco” event features a $90 tasting menu paired with a progression of award-winning agave expressions this Thursday.
Agave craftsmanship and regional Mexican cuisine will take center stage Thursday night at Marelle, where Chef Raphael Lunetta is hosting a curated four-course pairing dinner featuring the award-winning spirits of Cazcanes Tequila.
The event, titled “An Evening in Jalisco,” begins May 7 at 1740 Ocean Avenue at the Sandbourne Hotel. Priced at $90 per person, the experience highlights the distinct character of various agave expressions through a progression of tequilas paired with a specialized tasting menu.
The evening commences with a welcome Joven cocktail and an amuse-bouche of pineapple tequila gelée. Subsequent courses are structured to showcase the evolution of the agave spirit:
- First Course: Wild Mexican seabass ceviche tostada, paired with Cazcanes Blanco.
- Second Course: Pan-roasted Santa Barbara spot prawns, served alongside Reposado tequila.
- Third Course: Pan-roasted beef filet with corn pudding and ancho chili sauce, accompanied by an Añejo expression.
- Dessert: “La Nube Azul” featuring a tequila blueberry compote, complemented by a final Extra Añejo pairing.
Seating for the immersive event is limited. Marelle officials confirmed that reservations must be made exclusively through OpenTable.
