When the softball season began, it wasn’t certain that Crossroads would be able to field a team this season.
However, members of the first CIF basketball championship team in school history were encouraged by the coaching staff to go out for softball in order to give that team enough players.
With the influx of talent, the Crossroads softball team went 4-4 in league games and qualified for the CIF playoffs for the first time in four years.
Crossroads traveled to Lake Isabella for a first round game against Kern Valley on Friday, May 16 and absorbed a 4-0 defeat.
However, the Roadrunners’ overall record was 9-6 in a memorable season.
