Families, fellow service members, and the community visited the Arlington 1. West Memorial north of the Santa Monica Pier on Sunday, May 25. The memorial, representing the 4018 soldiers killed in Iraq was up Saturday through Monday with special Memorial Day events throughout the weekend. The Los Angeles Veterans for Peace, who created and have maintained the memorial since March 2004, catalogue and display mementoes brought by loved ones, and more than one-third of all the soldiers killed in Iraq have been personally memorialized here. 2.
