A committee sorting through about 60 applications for the Santa Monica College mens’ basketball coaching job has narrowed the field to five finalists.
It is believed some have Division 1 experience and a decision is anticipated to be made shortly.
Jesse Teplitzky, who guided last season’s team to the school’s first winning season in four years, resigned to become head coach at Cerritos College.
His top assistant, Joe Cascio, headed the Corsairs’ off-season program.
