BustOn Sunday, March 15, at around 5:15 p.m. Santa Monica Police Department Narcotics Investigators, in collaboration with agents from ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and officers from El Monte Police Department, apprehended a suspicious person, who was sitting in a car near the intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and Broadway Avenue. After detaining the suspect, who was identified as Ramadeep Singh Sandu, and believed to be a Canadian national residing in Fremont, California, the officers searched the vehicle, and discovered approximately 51,000 ecstasy tablets (MDMA, an hallucinogenic drug that is rumored to inspire users to be overly affectionate, and dance in a strange fashion), with a value of over one million dollars. The man was ultimately transferred to federal custody, pending federal narcotics trafficking charges.ExposedOn Wednesday, March 11, at 6:29 p.m. officers went to The Santa Monica Library at 60 Santa Monica Boulevard, where a man had been placed under citizen’s arrest by a Library Services Officer, for allegedly exposing his penis, and then urinating in a trash can inside the building. He was removed from the library and booked for indecent exposure.DrunkenOn Tuesday, March 10, at 3:05 p.m. at the 2600 block of Lincoln Boulevard an officer noticed a vehicle weaving between traffic lanes, so he stopped the vehicle and made contact with the female driver. He decided that she was displaying clear signs of alcohol intoxication (slurred speech, difficulty in focusing, delusions of grandeur?) so he instructed her to perform a series of field sobriety tests. The result; failure. She was arrested and booked for DUI.ArgumentOn Monday, March 9, at 12:48 p.m. at the 1800 block of 11th Street, two homeless men were arguing. Responding officers discovered that one of the men was drunk and a risk to himself. The other man, however, claimed that he was in a dating relationship with the drunken man, and that they were simply having a tiff. Officers then discovered that the men were in possession of a couple of power tools that they believed to have been stolen from somewhere. One man was arrested for public intoxication and possession of stolen property, whilst the other was arrested just for the stolen property.
