Drunk, Topless Woman, 20, Arrested After Breaking Into Santa Monica Apartment:

An intoxicated 20-year-old woman roaming the streets of Santa Monica with her breasts exposed was arrested on Friday, July 11 after breaking into an apartment by smashing through a glass window.

Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to the 800 block of Third Street at 9:14 pm on this day in order to investigate a report of a woman who was stumbling around in a way that suggested that she had been consuming copious quantities of alcohol.

When the officers arrived at the location they were flagged down by some neighbors who told the officers that the woman was attempting to beak in to the rear of the building, so the officers circled around the building to the rear in order to investigate.

Upon arrival at the rear of the building the officers heard some screaming, loud banging sounds, and the unmistakable tinkle of glass being shattered. The officers then saw the suspect entering an apartment through a broken glass sliding door.

The officers followed her inside whereupon they detained her.

The officers noticed that the woman was indeed very, very drunk due to her slurred speech, the fact that her shirt was wrapped around her waist, her breasts exposed, and that she thought she was in the City of Los Angeles, not Santa Monica.

This Los Angeles resident was arrested and charged with public intoxication and vandalism. Bail was set at $20,000.

Editor’s Note: These reports are part of a regular police coverage series entitled “Alert Police Blotter” (APB), which injects some minor editorial into certain police activities in Santa Monica. Not all of The Mirror’s coverage of incidents involving police are portrayed in this manner. More serious crimes and police-related activities are regularly reported without editorial in the pages of the Santa Monica Mirror and its website, smmirror.com.
