Cadette Girl Scout Troop 128 hosted a “Palisades Plastic Bag Free Weekend” on Saturday and Sunday, February 9 and 10. The girls were asking everyone to “NOT USE PLASTIC BAGS.” They were stationed throughout the Palisades giving out cloth reusable bags that they designed and purchased with their cookie money. They also handed out donated bags from Palisades PRIDE, Whole Foods, Wells Fargo, Gelson’s, and Bill Rosendahl’s office. Junior Scout Troop 985 also helped. The girls used YouTube, Facebook, and emails to promote the event. (l-r) Troop 128 members Sabrina Giglio, 14, Chelsea Shannon, 15, and Karli Feder, 14, were at the Farmers’ Market on Sunday handing out bags.
