Missing Santa Monica Senior Found Safe in Westchester

Donald Ellis found at Westchester Bristol Farms Sunday

An elderly man who had been reported missing in Santa Monica over the weekend was found safe on Sunday in Westchester, according to authorities.

Donald Ellis, 80, had last been seen on Saturday evening at the intersection of 16th Street and Washington Avenue in Santa Monica. Following his disappearance, the California Highway Patrol issued a brief Silver Alert on Sunday in conjunction with the Santa Monica Police Department.

Ellis was ultimately discovered at a Bristol Farms store in Westchester, as confirmed by his wife, Carol Ellis, who spoke to City News Service. She also revealed that he had been assaulted earlier that morning at an In-N-Out restaurant and that she intended to report the incident to the police.

No further information about the case has been released by law enforcement officials.
