The single-day Santa Monica event features small-batch seasonal confections, inventive crullers, and housemade jams.
Pastry chef Leah Chin-Katz, formerly a pastry chef at Republique, will bring her independent brand, Double Chin, back to Petit Grain Boulangerie on Monday, June 15, for a baked goods showcase, aka a pop-up.
The upcoming event is the second collaborative pop-up between Chin-Katz and the celebrated Santa Monica bakery located at 1209 Wilshire Blvd. Doors open at 9 a.m., with service continuing until 2 p.m. or sell-out.
While Chin-Katz hasn’t posted the menu, past pop-up selections featured raspberry kumquat frangipane tarts, sudachi raspberry glazed crullers, chocolate rye bundt cakes with passionfruit, brioche pastries filled with strawberry yuzu curd and tonka bean cream, and a Dubai Chocolate Brownie with toasted Kataifi tossed with Sicilian pistachio paste and drizzled with milk chocolate.
In addition to fresh-baked goods, Chin-Katz will also sell a seasonal collection of her small-batch jams and housemade marmalades during the event.
