Public Memorial Tribute Set For Dec. 7 For Santa Monica Resident Brandon Cramer:

A “Remembering Brandon” Public Memorial Tribute will take place Sunday, Dec. 7, on the Santa Monica Third Street Promenade in honor of popular resident and Promenade volunteer helper Brandon Cramer who passed away in his sleep on Monday, Nov. 24, at his residence near the Promenade.

He was 41 years old.

As a youth, Cramer was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder. He also suffered from epilepsy.

He loved the Promenade and befriended and ran errands for many of the popular venue’s shop owners, cart owners, and street performers.

Cramer also befriended many of the area’s police officers and firefighters.

The public memorial tribute gathering will take place from 10 am until 11 am at 1351 Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica 90401, in front of Barney’s Beanery and across from Starbucks, two of the Promenade locations he visited frequently.

His mother, Amalia Starr, who wrote the touching and informative book “Raising Brandon” in 2009 about her son’s Asperger syndrome diagnosis and it’s challenges will speak at the public gathering.Others who knew him are invited to share their memories as well.

He was born March 11,1973 in Los Angeles.

The family will be holding a service on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 12:30 pm at Mount Sinai Mortuary located at 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles 90068.
