Santa Monica Cops Arrest Gardena Man After Crashing Car Under Influence Of Narcotics:

Latest police news and updates.

Bail was set at $100,000 for a Gardena man on Saturday, April 11, after the man crashed his car under the influence of narcotics. Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department received a radio call at 4:30 pm informing them that there had been a traffic collision in the intersection of Stewart St. and Olympic Blvd.

The officers were also informed that one of the drivers involved in the incident was walking around in the middle of the street aimlessly with a disoriented demeanor that was possibly caused by something other than the shock of being in a traffic accident.

Upon arrival the officers spotted the suspect in the street.

The officers noticed that this individual was sweating profusely, mumbling unintelligible words, and that he had a dazed and confused look upon his face.

The officers attempted to conduct a field sobriety test upon this suspect but the man tensed up and tried to resist the officers.

The officers, based upon the state of this man and coupled with evidence collected at the scene, arrested this 41-year-old man and he was charged with for driving while under the influence of narcotics and causing injury to another party.

The Santa Monica Fire Department attended the scene in order to treat the victim of the accident.
