Photography Captures Crowds:

Santa Monica Exhibition

By Sam Skopp

A stunning array of fine art photography from YourDailyPhotograph.com’s Editions of Eleven and Vices series of works drew hundreds to a pop-up space in Santa Monica Place, everyone keen to get an up-close and personal view at the stunning works, usually only available to view online.

YourDailyPhotograph.com is an email subscription service in which a few fine art photographs by diverse photographers are offered to art collectors daily at a discounted price for 24 hours. Editions of Eleven and Vices are both collections with pieces available through YourDailyPhotograph.com, many of which were displayed at the pop-up gallery. The service is run by Santa Monica’s Duncan Miller Gallery in Bergamot Station.

“The pieces we have for this project, Editions of Eleven, are similar for their iconic imagery. They’re classic images,” explained Gallery Manager Caitlin Lennon.

Editions of Eleven sees each piece, many of which are classic American scenes, printed in small editions of 11 on heavyweight art paper and with archival pigment inks, allowing them to last for up to 80 years.

The pieces from Vices, by photographer Jamie Johnson, which were also on display, depict children writing phrases on small chalkboards in a manner reminiscent of archaic school-day punishment, but updated to include phrases like “I Will Not Date Actresses,” or “I Will Not Greenlight Bad Movies.”

A selection of images from the exhibition is on display at Duncan Miller Gallery. For more information head to YourDailyPhotograph.com, or duncanmillergallery.com.
