New Roads Girls Excel:

The New Roads girls basketball team, coached by T.J. Knox, has won 10 of its first 13 games this season and is 2-1 in the Harbor League following a 46-40 loss at Rolling Hills Prep last Friday. New Roads will oppose Ribet Academy Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The game will be played at Crossroads, Olympic Boulevard and 18th Street. St. Monica Girls Are 10-8.

Forward Kalia Williams of St. Monica ranks 64th in scoring with 15.4 per game among all girls in the CIF Southern Section.

The Mariners have a 10-8 record, including a 60-33 win this month over St. Anthony and a 43-31 loss to Serra. St. Monica will play at Palisades Saturday night.

Crossroad Boys Drop Two

The Crossroads boys basketball team lost two games last week, to league power Montclair Prep 79-50 and Serra, 44-41.

Samohi Girls Soccer Is 11-2

The Santa Monica high girls soccer team defeated Beverly Hills, 4-0.

The goals were scored by Amela Daly, Allison Gouvitz, Kelsey Thomas and Nicole Allen.

Samohi then defeated Culver City, 2-0 as goalie Nicole Davando recorded her eighth shutout of the season. The goals were scored by Payton Raffa and Allen.

Samohi has an 11-3 record with two ties and is 4-0 in league play.

In boys soccer, New Roads lost a Harbor League game, 5-3 to Rolling Hills Prep.

SM Boys Soccer Ranked 5th

Santa Monica High is ranked No. 5 in CIF Division 3 boys soccer. The top four-rated teams are Saddleback, La Mirada, Garey of Pomona and Paramount.

SM Girls Water Polo Ranks 4th

The Santa Monica High girls water polo team is ranked No. 4 in CIF Division 6. The top three-rated teams are Downey, El Segundo and Centennial of Corona.
