KCET Cinema Series Comes to Santa Monica:

Now in its 18th season at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in North Hollywood, the KCET Cinema Series debuted on the westside last night with its premiere screening of Ron Howard’s  Cinderella Man at the American Cinematheque’s Aero Theatre. 

The annual eight-week series has become a showcase for Academy Award contenders and film festival hits.   Writer/film historian Peter Hammond hosts the series and moderates  post-screening Q&A sessions with the filmmakers, producers and actors.

Tickets for the eight Tuesday screenings are $130 per person with a 10% discount for current KCET members.  Reservations can be made by calling (323) 953 5800.   The Cinema Series in Santa Monica is sponsored by Lexus with Variety serving as media sponsor.Proceeds from the series go to support of KCET and its programming.
