A unique display that is currently touring America will make a stop on Santa Monica Pier, Thursday and Friday, July 21 and 22.

The Dialogue Project, Scultura’s newest public art installation, consists of eleven, 7 X 9 foot freestanding screens covered with thousands of quotations from famous people throughout history – ranging from Martin Luther King Jr. to Madonna, as well as ordinary Americans.

The quotations are grouped into 18 main themes, including power, wisdom, politics, community and love.

The Dialogue Project is being shown at both authorized and unauthorized locations throughout the United States. It made its debut in San Francisco’s Union Square and will end its nation-wide tour in New York’s Times Square in June 2006. It is estimated that the screens will be seen by over 250,000 people, with over 5,000 quotations from viewers added by the tour’s end.Formed in 1991 by San Francisco Artist Mike Garibaldi, Scultura brings temporary public art to viewers in cities throughout the United States. The projects are secretly installed at night in busy metropolitan areas such as public squares, parks, tourist attractions and other highly trafficked areas.
