In a winless season, the Santa Monica College football team had its poorest defensive game Saturday, losing at home to Hancock, 81-38.
“It started well enough,” said Coach Robert Taylor. “We scored on our first two possessions.”
A first quarter lead quickly disappeared, however, as SMC’s young defensive unit sacrificed the most points it has given up in a game this season – even more than the 70 scored by West Los Angeles College.
SMC is 0-6 and will be home Saturday night at 7p.m. against Harbor, which has a 2-4 record.“Better times are ahead,” said Taylor. “They have to be.”
