“Connections for Children” Distributes 1,000 Toys: with help from Crossroads students

On December 14, 2005, Connections For Children began giving away toys to children on the Westside and in the South Bay communities.

This is the ninth year that low-income families in Connections’ service area have been given festively wrapped gifts donated by local businesses, service organizations, and preschools. Over 1,000 toys are being distributed this year.

Barnes & Noble, the California Credit Union, Mattel, The Santa Monica Jaycees, Small World Toys, Uncle Milton Industries and other businesses made donations  to Connections for Children’s annual Holiday Gift Program.

In the spirit of helping others during the holidays, children from local preschools collected new toys and donated them to Connections for distribution to other young children.

Volunteers from the Performance Management Group of Countrywide Financial Corp. and Crossroads High School assisted Connections for Children in preparing the Holiday Gift Program.

Approximately 40 Countrywide employees and 20 Crossroads students wrapped the gifts.
