The recently-completed womens’ soccer season was the most successful in Santa Monica College history.
Led by Coach Aaron Benditson, SMC finished with a 16-5 record. The school’s best previous record in the 11 years it has played the sport was 14-7 in 1998.
Included was a 9-3 record in the Southern Division of the Western State Conference.
Sarah Enlanson had 17 goals and seven assists, Lydia Laddon had 15 goals and six assists and Norma Alvarado contributed 12 goals and seven assists.
SMC earned a home match in the Southern Regional Tournament to begin the state playoffs but lost to Mt. SAC in three overtimes, 3-2.
