The Santa Monica Pier Restoration Corporation has once again invited students and amateur and professional designers to enter the fourth annual Twilight Dance Series poster contest.This summer’s concerts will be the 22nd edition of the popular ten-week series. The winning design will be its primary promotional device and will appear in display ads and on posters, flyers and banners. The artist who creates the winning design will receive $750, and a VIP package for the summer, which includes a backstage pass. All the designs will be on display in the Community Focus Gallery on the first floor at Santa Monica Place throughout May. Entries are due on March 31 at the PRC offices on the second floor of the carousel on the pier. This year’s winner will be chosen via a secure Internet poll at www.santamonicapier.org. Each visitor to the site will be allowed to cast one vote one time for one poster. Voting will take place throughout the month of April and the winner will be announced at the opening of the Community Focus Gallery exhibit in early May. Past winners include Stephanie Donon’s “Dancers,” Carrie Carmody’s “Hitchcock,” and Jeff Verges’ “A Tribute to the Classics.” Contest rules, design specifications and entry forms are available, along with a gallery of past posters at www.santamonicapier.org under “What’s Happening.”For more information, call (310) 458-8901.
