Four westside Democratic clubs will sponsor a Democratic candidates’ forum on March 18. Appearing will be the Democratic candidates who will compete in the June primary in five state Assembly districts and two state Senate districts. The West LA Democratic Club, the Westwood-Westside Democratic Club, the Culver City Democratic Club and the Westside Grassroots Democratic Club are sponsoring the forum. Former Massachusetts governor and 1988 Democratic presidential candidate Michael Dukakis will deliver the keynote address, “Making 2006 the Year of the Donkey.”The West LA Democratic Club will endorse candidates after the forum, which will be held. Saturday, March 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Venice Center for Peace with Justice and The Arts, 2210 Lincoln Boulevard in Venice, at the corner of Victoria Avenue., next to Venice United Methodist Church. Candidates who have been invited to participate are: 41st Assembly District – Julia Brownley, Barry Groveman, Kelley Hayes-Raitt, Jonathan Levey and Shawn Casey O’Brien; 42nd Assembly District – Mike Feuer, Eric Fine, Abbe Land; 47th Assembly District – Karen Bass; 51st Assembly District – Steven C. Bradford, Rev. Norman Johnson, Sr., Curren Price; 53rd Assembly District – Ted Lieu; 26th Senate District – Mark Ridley-Thomas; 28th Senate District – George Nakano, Jenny Oropeza. Admission is free.
