The community gathered at The Recording Academy in Santa Monica to say farewell to Superintendent John Deasy, who is leaving the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District to become the Superintendent of the Prince George County, Maryland School District in May.
Interim Superintendent Michael Matthews moderated the farewell festivities which included remarks by Mayor Holbrook and others.
