The new RAND building has won the U.S. Green Building Council’s Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for the environmentally responsible design, one of only 82 developments nationwide to earn the prestigious award. Energy efficiency, the use of low VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) in many of its materials and drought-resistant plants are among the building’s many environmentally friendly features.
