Samohi’s Greene Earns Top League Honor:

Samantha Greene of Santa Monica High has been named Player of the Year in Ocean League girls soccer. Greene, a junior, is expected to lead the way next season for the Vikings. She is currently playing club soccer and is being recruited by several New York universities. Samohi won the Ocean League championship and reached the second round of the CIF playoffs, where it lost to Mayfair.

Samohi guard Jordan Matthews goes up for a shot against Loyola's Thomas Lapham to make the game 11-5 in the first quarter of the 2013 CIF So. California Regional Championships at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario Saturday night. Matthews had 19 points and was named MVP of the game.
