Beethoven Elementary Creates Community Park:

Beethoven Street Elementary School is undergoing a $100 thousand effort to build Beethoven Park. The new park will update the kindergarten area with a new play structure, stage and amphitheater, sandbox, track, basketball hoop and more. Trees, gardens and shade will be plentiful. The park will be open to all members of the community.

Councilman Bill Rosendahl “strongly support[s] the creation of the Beethoven Park, a safe and accessible public playground that would benefit the children in our community.” Adds LAUSD School Board President Marlene Canter, “Community participation is key to a school’s success.”

It is hoped the park will be completed by the end of the summer. A private individual has donated $25 thousand to begin the project. To donate, or for more information, go to www.friendsofbeethoven.org/beethovenpark.
