The Venice Pier was reopened Thursday, May 25 in ceremonies featuring city and community representatives. This incarnation of the pier officially opened in 1965 as the Venice Fishing Pier, was rebuilt and reopened in 1998 after extensive damage from several storms in the 90s. The Pier suffered from storms last winter, causing closure to the public until last week’s reopening just before the Memorial Day weekend.
