Student News:

Santa Monica native Alexandra Cheney, a senior at Wheaton College in Massachusetts, has won a Watson Fellowship.  This will allow Cheney to spend a year traveling the world in order to study surfers, their connection to the environment and how surfers have been responsible for helping preserve oceans worldwide.

Three Santa Monica College students – Sadia Afolabi, Ryuji Ogida and Elisha Saad – have all been chosen for the Dale Ride Internship program and will be working in the U.S. Congress for two months over the summer.  Afolabi will intern with the office of Juanita Millender-McDonald (D-Torrance); Ogida with Grace Napolitano (D-Norwalk); and Saad with Diane Watson (D-Culver City).
