More than 200 PAL kids enjoyed a free evening of fun, food and friendship, while sponsors raised funds, at the 2nd Annual PALpalooza benefit at Pacific Park on June 28. The Police Activities League (PAL) is a project of the Santa Monica Police Department that offers educational, cultural, and athletic activities for boys and girls aged 6 to 17 years who are Santa Monica residents or go to school in Santa Monica. While the kids enjoyed the Park, family, colleagues and guests contributed approximately $4,000 to the project through ticket sales and donations. Event organizers standing at the right of the photo include (l-to-r) Jeff Klocke, director of marketing at Pacific Park, which sponsored the event with SMPD; Lt. Frank Fabrega, press information officer for the Police Department; and Patty Loggins-Tazi, director of PAL.
