Regina Carter Quintet, October 13-15, 8/9:30pm

Violinist Regina Carter is a highly original and gifted soloist who has captured the attention of heavyweights like Faith Evans, Mary J. Blige and Elliott Sharp, each having used her on their recordings. Filmmaker Ken Burns also put Ms. Carter’s talents to good use on his soundtrack for The Civil War. Additionally, the Detroit native made quite a splash in the jazz world after relocating to New York and going on to work with artists such as Max Roach, Tom Harrell, Kenny Barron, Oliver Lake and Wynton Marsalis. Some of her more acclaimed CDs include I’ll Be Seeing You: A Sentimental Journey, Motor City Moments and Paganini: After a Dream.
