New Roads Moves Into CIF Playoffs:

The New Roads girls’ volleyball team finished its Harbor League schedule with a 9-1 record (11-3 overall) and entered the CIF playoffs earlier this week as the league’s second place team.

New Roads split two matches with Lighthouse Christian, which was awarded the league’s top playoff seed.

New Roads won its final two league matches at the start of November over Ribet Academy and Rolling Hills Prep.

The scores against Ribet Academy were 25-17, 25-11, 25-16. The scores against Rolling Hills Prep were 25-12, 25-16 and 25-19.

In the latter match Ana Ramirez had seven kills, five aces and three digs and Erika Alvarez had 12 kills, two aces and four digs.
