Landmark Cottage Confusion:

In last week’s Mirror, we printed a picture and a small description of a cottage on 5th Street. We were since informed we had our facts mixed up, and indeed we did.

The landmarked turn-of-the-century cottage at 954 5th Street (pictured, left) is still standing. It is not the cottage that was at 914 5th Street (pictured, right) that was torn down. That 914 cottage was not landmarked and construction is currently underway for a five-unit condo complex (center).

We humbly apologize to all parties involved. It was never the Mirror’s intention to cause any embarrassment or trouble to Fifth Street Condo Project, LLC, owners of 954 5th Street, or to spread any misinformation.
