Local Businesses Strike It Up At SuperBowl-A-Thon:

Over 475 bowlers on teams representing various industries, businesses, social service agencies and local government across the Westside will compete in the 11th annual SuperBowl-A-Thon to raise funds for the Westside Shelter and Hunger Coalition (WSHC).

Participating in the community event will be First Federal Bank of California, the “Perfect Game” title sponsor for the fourth consecutive year. “Strike” sponsors include the Fairmont Miramar Hotel, Santa Monica Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Santa Monica Police Officers’ Association, while “Spare” level sponsors include Big Blue Bus, Fremont Investment & Loan, Harding Larmore Mullen Jakle Kutcher & Kozal, LLP, The Lobster, Pacific Park, Santa Monica Place, and Venice Family Clinic.

All proceeds from the SuperBowl-A-Thon XI will benefit the WSHC to help provide emergency supplies and services for homeless and low-income men, women and families.

The event will take place on Friday, February 2 from 1:00-6:30 p.m., at AMF Bay Shore Lanes at 324 Pico Boulevard. At 4:00 p.m. a special mixer will be held for members of the hospitality community followed by a 5:30 bowling session.

For over twenty years, WSHC, a project of Community Partners, has addressed the needs of the homeless and low-income population in the western part of Los Angeles County by coordinating programs, such as food and shelter, job counseling and health services, as well as providing education and advocacy. WSHC brings together more than 30 organizations representing local human service, government agencies and faith-based programs committed to ending hunger and homelessness on the Westside.
