Brentwood Girls Enjoy More Basketball Success:

The Brentwood girls have done well in basketball the last few years and are on target again this season.

The Eagles, who reached the CIF championship game last season, have a 12-5 record and are 4-0 in the Olympic League. In recent games Brentwood defeated Valley Christian, 59-35, and Calvary Chapel, 70-22.

Crossroads has a 6-7 record and has played well lately. The Roadrunners are 4-1 in league games.

The Venice girls won a Western League game from Fairfax, 59-54, as Shannon Nakanine scored 22 points.

In boys’ basketball, University High edged Venice, 48-47, in a Western League game. Venice also lost to LACES, 52-47, and is 5-14 overall.

Palisades lost to Westchester, 63-54, after trailing by only two points after three quarters. The Dolphins are 14-8 overall.

Malibu is 3-0 in the Frontier League and 7-7 overall following a 48-42 victory over Villanova Prep. Ryan Walczyk is averaging 12.8 ppg and Chris Peck 11.4.
