Nordic LAttitudes Comes To Santa Monica Library:

The Santa Monica Public Library, Friends of the Library and Moore Ruble Yudell Architects & Planners introduce Nordic LAttitudes, a spectacular and educational exhibit showcasing the best in Nordic furniture and lighting design, taking place from February 1 through March 18 at the Santa Monica Public Library’s Main Branch.

The event, which is in its inaugural year, will pay tribute to esteemed Nordic designers such as Poul Henningsen, Verner Panton, Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjaerholm, Hans Wegner, Alvar Aalto, Eero Saarinen and Poul Christianson (Le Klint Lighting collection), as well as new and upcoming designer Louise Campbell.

Aside from hosting the launch, the stunning new facility, recently unveiled in January 2007, will be home to the designs on display as well as the renowned guest lecturers who are scheduled to appear throughout the event’s six-week span.

Other notables expected at the event include Louis Poulsen Lighting, Brayton International, Verpan, Fritz Hansen, Jules Seltzer, Tangram, David Silverman Associates, Design Within Reach, Prudential Lighting Products, ASI Modulex, GeolinOnline.com, Syska & Hennessy, Inc., Leman USA, and DFDS Transport Inc., YLighting, Scandinavian American Art Center, Studio Denmark, Herman Miller, Carlsberg and other well-noted companies within the industry.
