Charity Basketball Game Scheduled At USC August 5:

A charity basketball game featuring NBA players and celebrities is scheduled for USC’s Galen Center Sunday, August 5.

         This is the former “Midsummer Night’s Magic” game sponsored by Magic Johnson for 20 years that has been turned over to former Crossroads School star Baron Davis (Golden State Warriors) and former Inglewood High star Paul Pierce, now of the Boston Celtics.

         Proceeds will go to the nonprofit foundations of Davis, Pierce and Gilbert Arenas of the Washington Wizards.

         Some scheduled participants are Lamar Odom, Jordan Farmar and Maurice Evans of the Lakers; Sam Cassell and Cuttino Mobley of the Clippers; Jason Kidd of the New Jersey Nets; and Deron Williams of the Utah Jazz

         In addition, NBA rookies Arron Afflalo (UCLA, Detroit Pistons) and Gabe Pruitt (USC, Celtics) are scheduled to play.
