Venice Football Opener Will Be On Television:

Venice High’s opening game of the football season will be televised by LA 36, which plans to show seven regular season games of LA City Section teams in the upcoming season.

The station likes to feature individual stars, and Venice High running back Curtis McNeal qualifies. McNeal has committed to USC, where he is likely to return punts and compete for tailback duty beginning next season.

Venice’s opening game will be against San Fernando, which is also considered a City Section powerhouse.         Venice, which has defeated Santa Monica in non-league games each of the last two years, will play the Vikings at Corsair Field, the third game on Samohi’s schedule.
