“Blues,” “gospel” and “funk” are all words to describe the style in which guitarist Eddie Turner gets his groove on. Early in his career, Turner served a stint as guitarist for the legendary ’60s Colorado-based outfit Zephyr. The mega-talented axeman’s 2005 release Rise chalked up a Blues Music Award nomination for Best New Artist. Effective takes on classics such as “Gangster of Love” and “The Wind Cries Mary” have demonstrated just how creative and ear-pleasing Mr. Turner’s offerings can be.
