Robert Wagner joined Dr. Joel Matta and others to cut the ribbon and open the new facilities of the Hip and Pelvis Institute at Saint John’s Health Center on Wednesday, October 10.
The Institute’s new facilities in the medical office building at Santa Monica Boulevard and 20th Street were blessed by Fr. Patrick Comerford before the doors were opened to the large treatment/examination rooms, digital x-ray area, consultation offices, and associated support facilities.
Dr. Matta, founder and director of the Institute, spoke of the importance of medical doctors partnering with hospitals rather than competing with them, before he introduced orthopedic surgeons Andrew Yun and Robert Klenck who also practice with the Institute.
Robert Wagner praised Dr. Matta’s work (Wagner’s wife is one of Matta’s patients) and expressed his pleasure that the doctor had chosen Saint John’s at which to base the Institute.
