Santa Monica Treesavers held a pre-Thanksgiving vigil in downtown Santa Monica on Wednesday, November 21, asking supporters to sign a 100-yard-long “Thanks for the Trees” message scroll. The scroll will be presented to the Santa Monica City Council with the hope of getting the City to change its policy that threatens more than 50 mature ficus trees along 2nd and 4th Streets in the downtown area with removal or relocation.
