SMC To Begin Basketball Season:

Jesse Teplitzky will make his debut as head coach of the Santa Monica College men’s basketball team Wednesday, November 7 in a 7:30 p.m. home game against Santa Ana College.

Teplitzky replaces Trevor Shickman, who coached the team the last three years following the retirement of Community College Hall of Fame coach John McMullen.

As Teplitzky guides SMC, McMullen has come out of retirement to be an assistant at New Mexico State, where his former Corsair assistant Marvin Menzies became head coach.

SMC, which plays in early season tournaments, has seldom played home games in November but will have three this month. The others are November 20 against LA Southwest and November 30 against Rio Hondo.
