Carepages.com and the USO are sponsoring Yellow Ribbons For Our Wounded Troops, a web page where wounded soldiers and their families can post their stories, share information about medical advice, and give and receive support from others, carepages.com/yellow-ribbons.

The Santa Monica Rotary Club is accepting applications from area nonprofits for capital and equipment funding requests. Applications are due January 31, 2008 for the next funding cycle. Applicants can call the Rotary Club at 310.917.3313 or e-mail rotaryclubofsantamonica@verizon.net.

The United States Veterans Initiative (USVETS) is collecting used and unwanted cell phones to raise money for formerly homeless veterans and returning troops. Donations can be dropped off at 733 S. Hindry Ave., Inglewood, Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm, at the front desk, or 24 hours a day in Room 206.

The World Festival of Sacred Music – Los Angeles will take place September 20 to October 4, 2008. The festival is currently looking for performers, venues, presenters, and volunteers. Applications are due January 4, 2008, 310.825.0507
