Aceyalone is an easily recognizable name in Los Angeles-area hip-hop. As a founding member of Freestyle Fellowship, he helped bring the region’s underground hip-hop scene to national recognition in the ’90s. He went on to record as part of Haiku D’Etat and the A-Team and has released several critically acclaimed albums on his own. With his latest release, Lightning Strikes, he worked with dancehall-influenced producer Bionik to combine his own hip-hop stylings with Jamaican riddims.

Blues artist Sonny Rhodes has been nominated for 11 Blues Music Awards, played the prestigious San Francisco Blues Festival multiple times, and has recorded albums for both established blues labels and his own imprints. However, if you’re a sci-fi fan, you might best recognize the acclaimed steel guitarist as the performer of “The Ballad of Serenity,” the theme for the short-lived but much loved futuristic western Firefly.
