Can street-cleaning, graffiti removal, and tree-planting be “fun for the whole family”? This event promises it will be. Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Los Angeles City Councilmember Bill Rosendahl are presenting this day of urban beautification, which will also involve repairing a roller hockey rink fence, painting and repairing an equipment shed, and mural painting. Volunteers are still needed and may register at volunteer@lacity.org. Registration begins at 7am, free, Mar Vista Park and Recreation Center, 11430 Woodbine Ave, LA, 213.922.9737.
