Firehouses in Santa Monica opened their doors to the community for Fire Service Day on Saturday, May 10. Firefighter Matt Hill helped UCLA student Lauren Chaplin to try on a fire suit at Station 1 on 7th Street. It weighs about 60 pounds, including the air tank, and firefighters are trained to suit up in 60 seconds.
