Softball Roundup:

Venice High remained in second place in the Western League by defeating Hamilton 3-1 and University 25-8.

 Westchester has an 11-1 league record and Venice is 10-2.

 Third place Palisades defeated Fairfax 7-5 and University 7-1. The Dolphins are 12-5 overall, including 8-4 in the league.

 St. Monica defeated Mary Star 4-3 and St. Bernard 7-0 before losing to Serra 4-3.

 Kiana Dotson leads the Mariners with a .408 batting average.  Haleigh Pellicer and Kyra Sherrin are both hitting .381. 

 Crossroads shut out New Roads 10-0, defeated Brentwood 11-6 and Marshall 5-2, improving the Roadrunners’ record to 9-3 overall, including 4-2 in the Alpha League.

 Besides the loss to Crossroads, New Roads was defeated by Rolling Hills Prep 17-7.  The Jaguars’ record is 2-3.
