Wow Jams are the creation of Stephen and Linda Tavani and their Christian ministry. Stephen was a successful songwriter and producer and Linda, a famous singer as Peaches in the multi-platinum group Peaches and Herb. Together they created WOW (Winning Our World) International, a non-profit organization, bringing the church to the streets and the streets back into the church. Stephen and Linda have led more than 330 Wow Jams in more than 40 cities, focusing on blighted inner-city areas. On Saturday, June 28, they led a Wow Jam at the beach north of the Pier in Santa Monica, attended by hundreds of people, young and old. After song and ministry, a large group ministers from many churches baptized those in attendance in the ocean. Reverend Clarence Coney, pastor at the Fountain of Living Water Church in Skid Row, right, who brought two busloads of people to the event, baptized Cassandra Reed, center, who is currently living at the Union Rescue Mission.
