Blues Stars Chosen For Soccer Showcase:

What’s next for the champion Pali Blues?

Five members of the team representing Pacific Palisades that won the D-League championship by completing an undefeated season have been selected to showcase their skills for a new women’s professional league.

It is expected that the majority of players who’ll be drafted and signed by the new league will come from the D-League.

The first 20 players of a group that will swell to more than 100 have been named to participate in the event in Tampa Sept. 4-7.

The Blues’ participants will be Sasha Andrews, Kendall Fletcher, Kara Kabellis, Jill Oakes and Kandace Wilson.

With the recent 2-1 victory in the title game over FC Indiana, Andrews played on a D-League championship team for the third time. The first two times she was with New Jersey.

It was the second championship for Coach Charlie Naimo and also for Fletcher.
