“Yes I am,” said Bobby Shriver to the question of whether he was going to seek reelection to the Santa Monica City Council. Shriver exclaimed, “There is unfinished business that I feel obliged to deal with.” Recently the Veterans Administration was able to extend the term of the Enhanced Sharing Agreement governing the Building 209 Homeless Housing Project to a total of fifty-five (55) years, making long term financing possible. Despite this significant progress “homelessness is still an issue.” Shriver went on to say he wanted to make sure that Measure V parcel tax money designed to clean up the bay was “spent correctly.” Four years ago his mother Eunice Shriver, his sister Maria, and his uncle Senator Edward Kennedy all came to Santa Monica to go door to door and appear at fundraisers to assist Shriver in his election campaign.
