The high school baseball season begins throughout Southern California on Friday, March 6.Defending Ocean League champion Santa Monica will play in the Royal High Tournament with Rob Duron beginning his second season as head coach. Samohi will open at home Friday at 3:15p.m. against University High but heralded senior Tyler Skaggs is not scheduled to pitch. He’s likely to debut Saturday in another tournament game at Westlake High.Pat Armstrong joins Matt Amido as co-coach at Crossroads, which will open Friday at 3 p.m. with a home (Clover Park) non-league game against Vistamar.St. Monica, coached by Jack White, is in the Southern California Tournament and will open against Malibu Friday at 3 p.m. and play Grace Brethren Saturday at 11 a.m.Rob Cannone’s Brentwood team will be home Friday afternoon in a non-league game against Blair.
