Third Annual Airport Art Walk, March 28, 1-5pm, free, Airport Ave. between Bundy Dr. and 23rd St., 310.458.8350. The former Douglas Aircraft field, aka Santa Monica Airport, could be considered an art mecca in itself, with airplanes as installations. Old buildings along Airport Avenue have been turned into studios and galleries and the Art Walk provides a chance to drop in and see what artists are creating. Several galleries are having receptions in conjunction with the walk (see Seven Days listings). Children’s Arts Festival: Celebrate for a Cure, March 29, 9:30am-4pm, $5-$10, Roosevelt School, 801 Montana Ave. 650.224.2621. This is the really painless way to give to a charity (Celebrate for a Cure for Leukemia and Lymphoma). For starters there’s a pancake breakfast hosted by the Santa Monica Police Department and Troop 2 SM Boy Scouts. Later there’ll be arts and crafts, hook and ladder climbing, and music by the likes of trumpeter Gabriel Johnson and singer-songwriters Jessie Reimer and Peter Himmelman.
